Barb's top ten list of things to do and see when you come to Austin:

  • 10) Check out Mount Bonnell – one of the best views in the city
  • 9) View the skyline from the parking lot of the Barton Creek Mall
  • 8) The Oasis – sunset capital of Texas on Lake Travis
  • 7) Stubbs – music and BBQ
  • 6) Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Museum – educational, interesting, fun and free!
  • 5) University of Texas – climb the tower, shop, eat, mingle, a beautiful campus
  • 4) Austin City Limits – very hard to get tickets, but worth the effort – and we have the ACL Festival each year (3 days of music)
  • 3) Rudy’s – BBQ at a gas station – much better than it sounds
  • 2) Music – We have so many local musicians – you can see an excellent band any night of the week (plus there’s blues at legendary Antones)
  • 1) Austin Outdoors – Lake Travis, Zilker Park, Balcones Canyonland, Edwards Aquifer, Hike and Bike Trails – and the list goes on!!!
